Live Streaming: China-owned multi utility energy plant in Singapore

Singapore’s first and only coal-burning utility plant is the Tembusu Multi-Utilities Complex (TMUC) on Jurong Island, which supplies steam and electricity to companies on the industrial island. But unlike regular coal-based plants, TMUC has put environmental sustainability as a key focus area and it utilises a multi-fuel strategy of low sulphur and low ash coal, renewable biomass, to produce steam and meet Singapore’s stringent emissions standards. TMUC is owned and operated by Tuas Power. Recognised as one of the top three players in the Singapore power sector, Tuas Power is a fully owned subsidiary of NYSE-listed Huaneng Power International and a member of power giant China Huaneng Group.
